Present Pro-choice Strategy:

We could go into considerable detail about what's wrong with present pro-choice strategy, but other than acknowledging where we are, that does not serve our purpose here at this time.

 Rather, we choose to:

   Focus on the areas where we can make a difference.   
   Focus on activities that will make a difference.   
   Avoid and additional  Futile gesturing^°.  ⁽¹⁰⁾   
   And above all,  focus on  How to Keep Abortion Legal.   

For the purpose of understanding where we are, we have created a detailed analysis of present pro-choice strategies^{°  ( 11)}   and compared them those of the opposition.   For those interested, please read it from an information perspective.

A New Strategy:

We need to approach the choice issue with clear and specific answers to the ”Why I’m pro-choice” question.^{° ( 13)} 

Public Image:   We need to provide the public with emotion-laden reasons why they too should be pro-choice.    We need to clearly tell them why it’s in their best interest to be pro-choice.  (How to Talk to the Public about Abortion)^{° ( 14)}   

Judges and Legislators:   We need to approach politicians and courts with the evidence as to why abortion is a First Amendment, religious freedom issue.^{° ( 15)}     We need to provide them with conclusive physical evidence  (or more accurately, the lack of evidence) about what abortion actually is.    We need to give our pro-choice politicians the working tools^{° ( 16)}   they need to counter the anti-abortion fairytales.

The Message:   We need to speak the religious freedom  message loud and clear and speak it at every opportunity:   Abortion is a First Amendment, religious freedom issue.    (If you don’t yet understand why that is, what makes it so, and why it’s important, we recommend studying our web sites:

The Evidence:   There is no evidence whatsoever that can prove  a human being is his/her physical body.^{° ( 17)}     The latest evidence from sub-atomic physicists indicates that physical matter is not physical at all.   It's made up of energy.    The evidence raises this question:   “How can we continue to see anything in the physical world as as a controlling factor when the self [the human being] who is making that determination is not physical at all, but is, itself, made up energy?”    The Evidence tells us that life is in the spirit.   But then, perhaps it's not.^{° ( 17a)}  

There is overwhelming circumstantial evidence supporting the position that life is in the spirit^{°  ( 18)}  which inhabits the physical body.   There is no scientific evidence that contradicts this possibility.   There is also overwhelming religious evidence (if you consider the Christian Bible as evidence) which supports the religious belief that life is it in the spirit^{° ( 19)}  which inhabits the physical body. 

There is no direct evidence that offers any physically provable answers to these questions:   “What is life?^{° ( 20)}    ---   What is it’s origin?   ---  How does life come to be in physical forms? --- Where does it reside?  ---  Is a physical form "life" or is a body simply a host for life?  ---  What is the inner nature of the source of life's vital activity?  ---  What happens to life when a physical body dies?  ---  Are there other "forms of life" that we are not presently aware of?^{° ( 20a)}  

In a free society, beliefs about reality,^{° ( 21)}      guesswork, conjecture, speculation, and Medieval fairytales^{° ( 22)}   are not the basis for passing secular laws.    This leaves the abortion issue squarely in the religious arena.

We need to jamb that message down the throats of the anti- abortion leaders^{°  ( 23)} until they gag on their own lies and hypocrisy.

Clear, Specific , Tangible, Measurable, Doable Activities:  

Often we hear the following comment/question shrouded behind looks of doubt and skepticism:  "OK,   how do we do that?"   We have several, specific programs designed to answer your question and  TO KEEP ABORTION LEGAL.   They are listed below:

        For example, what would be the result  if this letter (or an edited or a similar letter) were sent to every church in the united states, or published in every major newspaper in the entire country?

    We also recommend the pro-choice organization enlist their members to work on democratic campaign committees.   Note what the Anti-abortionists are doing for the Republicans with their Christian followers, and do likewise for the Democratic Party.   

        For example, create Pro-choice action committees and pro-choice publicity campaigns  by asking question like:   "How can we use the  The One Million Message Project^{° ( 37)}    and the  Letter to Fellow Christians^{°  (38)}  to support democratic candidates?"

The Bottom Line:   

That’s how to support Choice.    That’s how to keep abortion legal.
