In some areas of life, challenging and pointing our dysfunctional behavior is a way to make life better.  For example, pointing out dysfunctions in government and business can make both more practical, more efficient and more functional.      Pointing dysfunctions in religion, can bring a touch of reality to beliefs and behaviors that are extremely detrimental.

We may give lip service to it, but it's rare for the general public to seriously question the activities of either business or government.   In most religions,  questioning and challenging authority and/or the beliefs is considered blasphemy.  

Unfortunately, in  the place where we should master the art of allowing and not find fault -- in our intimate, personal relationships -- humans tend to be excessive at finding fault, blaming, condemning, and even punishing.   

Imagine what would life be like if we challenged the dysfunctions in governments, businesses and religions, and allowed our spouses to be who they are.
