Post-abortion
Mental Health

 .

Page Summary

One has but to examine The Universal Law of Thought to see the correlation between mental conditioning and psychological well being.    The energy of thought and the energy of belief overpower everything else.   Because beliefs control behavior, the most successful way to control a person's behavior, tell him or her  what to believe.

The evidence clearly indicates that those who oppose abortion rights are peddling guilt.   The post abortion psychological problem known as guilt is the inevitable result of  the mental programming that is being so strongly and so pervasively promoted to the public by those who call themselves as "pro-life?"°

.

.

 .

   The Problem:

Post-abortion Stress is another area where those promoting pro-life  falsely claim moral superiority.    The issue  revolves around a comparison between  psychological health of women who intentionally terminated their pregnancy (inpreterm) as compared to those who carried their pregnancies to birth.   Readers are invited to view a no-choice press release on the issue from an organization called Canadian Physicians for Life ° which indicates better mental health for those carrying pregnancy to birth.   Viewers might also be interested in what scientific studies tells us.°

.

One can see the results, but
what is the source of the problem?

Is terminating a pregnancy the source of the problem?   Or are the psychological problems the inevitable result of  the mental programming that is being so strongly and so pervasively promoted to the public by those who call themselves as "pro-life?"°

.

What does the Evidence Tell Us?

If you had been mentally conditioned to believe:

"If you have an abortion, you are a baby murderer!"

How would that affect your mental well-being after intentionally terminating your pregnancy?

If you had been programmed from early childhood to believe that:

"You are separate from God.   You are inherently evil.   No matter what you do you can not overcome your evil nature.   You have to follow certain rules to get into heaven.   Terminating a pregnancy condemned you to burn in hell forever."

How would that affect your mental well-being after intentionally terminating your pregnancy?

If you had been programmed from early childhood to believe that:

"Sex is evil.   Pregnancy is punishment for defying God and having sex.   If you get pregnant, the only way to redeem your sin-filled, sex-lusting self in the eyes of God is to become a mother."

How would that affect your mental well-being after intentionally terminating your pregnancy?

If you had been programmed from early childhood to believe in the religious fairytale called:

God's  instantaneous, supernatural, transcendental, conception-magic act  If you have an abortion you are not only destroying God's work, you are a baby murderer.

How would that affect your mental well being after intentionally terminating your pregnancy?

   If you were regularly being:

bombarded with ultra-conservative, anti-abortion fairytales,  and had no other source of information,

how would that affect your ability to make a rational decision about terminating a pregnancy?   And how would that affect your mental well being after intentionally terminating your pregnancy?

The evidence clearly indicates that those who oppose abortion rights are peddling guilt.   Let's examine this further.

.

.

 .

    What is First Cause:

Of course we have a mental health
    problem related to abortion!

One has but to examine The Universal Law of Thought to see the correlation between mental conditioning and psychological well being.    The energy of thought and the energy of belief overpower everything else.   They are first cause in everything humans do.   They Create the fundamental context in which we live our lives.    They are  "first cause" in our self-image, in our sense of well-being, and in our vision of who and what we are.

The Law of Thought also tells us that guilt comes out of one's beliefs about an activity and not out of the activity itself.

   Garbage in-  garbage out.

   Fairytales in - fairytales out.

Baby murder in - WHAT ELSE COULD POSSIBLY COME OUT?

Bible Law Thought       Bible Law Thought       ...

Here's the law of thought in Biblical terms:

According to your faith shall it be given onto you.

As you sow, so shall you reap.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God,
       and the Word was God.

Ask and you shall receive; seek and you shall find.

Knock and the door shall open.

Whatsoever you desire when you pray, believe that you have it
        and you will have it.

Your faith has made you whole.  [allowed a blind man see]

All things are possible to him who believes.

If you have but the faith of a mustard seed, you can move mountains,
and nothing shall be impossible unto you.

Anything I can do, you can do and more.

The mind is the controller of all of life, including one's attitude and one's sense of well being around terminating a pregnancy.   Here's where to find additional scientific confirmation of this fact:  http://www. brucelipton, com

.

Some examples:
Let's look at some physical activities and see if there is any guilt related to those activities, and if so, where does the guilt comes from:

In the areas of the United Sates where wild deer roam free, it's common practice each fall for the human males to traipse out into the woods by the thousands and attempt to murder Bamby's daddy.   Do they feel guilty about their behavior.    Hardly!

Thousands of Americans make their living as part of the process that raises, and  then kills cows.   Do these people feel guilty about it?    If some of them do, should we outlaw beef so that these people can appease their guilt?   If they feel guilty about participating in the beef business, they are in the wrong occupation?

Take a hundred deer rifles and go to India, give them to the adult males and tell them to go out and kill the cows that roam freely around India.   What would happen.   They simply would not kill the cows.   Why not?   Because of their attitudes, their belief systems, their programming, their mental conditioning.   So, if one of them did go out and murder some cows and later regretted his actions, where would the post-cow-killing emotional trauma come from?  --  from that activity or the attitude about the activity.

.

Quote From "The New Revelations, A Conversation with God":

"Radical forces within your societies have always sought to change things by using the power of thought, not action, for they  know that thought produces action.   Get a person thinking a certain way and you can get a person to act a certain way.   It's not easily done the other way around.

"Take killing for example.   You can rarely get a person to go out and kill another person simply by telling him to do so.   You have to give him a reason.  And "reason" exists only in thought.   And thought is always based on belief.   So if you want to get one person to kill another, the fastest way to do that is to give him a belief that supports the action and sponsors it. . .

So while most of the world is seeking to bring about change by telling people what to DO, those who really know how to motivate people are bringing about change by telling people what to BELIEVE."    (Author is Neal Donald Walsch. Published by Atari Books, New York, NY, 2003)  (pages 17-18)

.

The evidence clearly indicates four things:
      1)  An activity itself does not cause emotional problems.
Emotional problems stem from attitudes and beliefs about
an activity that is engaged in.

    2)    Terminating a pregnancy is NOT in and of itself
the cause of any emotional problems.

      3)  The post abortion emotional problems are almost certainly
the  product of the negative and destructive, mental
programming about abortion that is presently being
peddled by those who call themselves pro-life.

     4)  Any research study evidence connecting post abortion
emotional problems to the physical abortion itself  is faulty,
misleading and inaccurate.   To be accurate, research
must include an analysis of the prior mental
programming and conditioning of the women in the study.

Japanese Women:
      1)  An activity itself does not cause emotional problems.
Emotional problems stem from attitudes and beliefs about
an activity that is engaged in.

.

 .

 .

.

Japanese Women:

1)  Perhaps those who claim that abortion produces psychological problems should conduct their same study in Japan.  Japanese women are not prone to post-abortion guilt.

Why not?  Perhaps our forced-motherhood friends would discover that the source of the guilt about anything is not in the a physical activity, itself,  but in the belief about what that physical activity means..

.

The Christian Track Record:

Actually we shouldn't be surprised to find the fundamentalist Christian leaders promoting beliefs that create problems and then stepping up to offer their own one-way-my-way version of the cure.   Neither should we be surprised that, regarding such activity, they, themselves, are the greatest beneficiaries in the process.

For centuries, those in control of the Christian hierarchy have been destroying the self- image of defenseless children so that they could replace the child's healthy self-image with a dependency on their brand of Christianity.   That mind control policy was even adopted by the Russian brand of communism:  "Get the child and you've got the adult."

Is there  anybody who doesn't know that the Christian hierarchy uses guilt as a means of manipulation and control?   Publicly peddling abortion guilt is simply the latest tool in their bag of nasty tricks.

The major difference between today and years past is that:
     1)  Today, the con game is exposed for what it is.
     2)  This despicable behavior is being openly challenged,  (at least where it
            relates to abortion)  and
     3)  Those responsible are being warned about the severe, negative personal
consequences that each of them faces as a result of their actions.

Wise Word    Wise Word     ...

    A Word to the Wise:

If you are actively opposing abortion rights
Your eternal salvation is at stake.   If you are really interested in women's mental heath, you'll immediately stop destroying woman's sense of well being.   You'll stop waving flags and patting yourselves on the back.   You'll look in the mirror and see that YOU are the problem.   Abortion is not the problem.   Your guilt-peddling, anti-sexual hypocrisy is the problem.

If you really are interested in saving babies, we  suggest you join an organization such as the Christian Children's Fund and focus on saving the 40, 000 children who starve to death every day or die of curable diseases.    Or perhaps you might focus on ridding the Roman Catholic Church of men who commit (to use their own words)  "abominable and detestable crimes against nature" by molesting the young boys in their care.

Not only are you peddling death and misery,    you are defying God.   You have been conned by the greatest liar in all of creation and  by misinforming and misguiding others you are condemning yourself to hellfire and damnation.   Here's what your own Bible says about your behavior:

“And whoever shall cause one  . . .  who believes in me to stumble, it is better for him that an ass’s millstone were hanged on his neck, and that he were thrown into the sea.”   Mark 9:42

.

Perhaps you might like to read a letter asking for help written by someone who  questioned the anti-choice logic and concluded that simply going along with the church leaders' anti-abortion policies was actually very dangerous.

.

 .

 .

    Responsibility:

One has to ask,  "Where responsibility fits in here?"

What is the government's responsibility?

Is it the government's responsibility to outlaw everything that is in the least bit dangerous?    Of course not!   To justify outlawing abortion or keeping it legal on this basis is to use the  argument called "the Red Herring."   The argument goes something like this:

The Pro-choice Side:

Should we outlaw cars, airplanes, skydiving, tobacco, alcohol, bicycles, skateboards and soccer matches because people have died in activities relating to these things?   Shall we outlaw stairs because people have fallen down them and died?  Perhaps we should outlaw schools because innocent children are still being murdered there.   How much protection is enough?   When does protection become fascism?

The Pro-life Side:

Should we allow women to kill babies just because it's inconvenient to keep them alive?   Shall we allow doctors to kill old people because it costs money to keep them alive?   Life begins at conception, therefore abortion is murder.

These arguments plug neatly into one's emotions and tend to move the listener.   They are often quite effective.    When you listen to the forced-motherhood story line, we invite you to be aware that the speaker is attempting to trigger an emotional response in you and get you to support his/her position.

There claims are all based on beliefs about reality that are not substantiated by the evidence.  Check the evidence for yourself.   Here are four places to start:

Is Abortion is a Religious Freedom Issue

Life begins at conception,°

.

What Is the Pregnant  Woman's Responsibility?

There are some women who should never, ever, under any circumstances terminate a pregnancy.   Any women who has been mentally conditioned with Christian guilt is going to have post-abortion trauma.   The level of guilt,  the amount of stress, and the intensity of the trauma, will depend upon how strongly her was programmed with Christian guilt.    (See  the five examples listed above under the heading:    What Does the Evidence Tell Us?)

 .

What about the women who have had abortions and later become adamantly anti-choice?

Who's responsible for their ignorance, for their desperation, for their wrong decision.   Did someone force them to have an abortion?    Are these women victims of abortion rights?   Because it was wrong for them, does that make it wrong for everybody else, too.   Where does political and religious freedom fit into this picture?   What about the psychological concept called "Projection?"  Where does that fit into their anti-abortion stance.    And what about guilt?   Is anti-choice activity simply a guilt-appeasement mechanism?

.

There's  the question of control:

Who makes your decisions about your use or non-use of products that are potentially dangerous?    Who makes your decisions about whether or not your engaging in activities that are dangerous?

And then there's  the real questions:

Who owns a woman's body?
Who decides whether or not she is to become a mother?
The woman herself?   Or the State?
Who pays the personal price of forced motherhood
°      and
Who pays the social price of forced motherhood
°

Who controls the State and who controls the minds of those who control the State?   By their actions, it's obvious that those controlling the State are blind worshippers of "The Great God, Money," so who really is in charge?

Of course we must not condone violence against others.  Ask yourself, "In whose name are the most vile acts of violence perpetrated?" And who commits these acts of violence?   The answer is quite easy to find.

Religious fanatics commit crimes  in the name of God,  political fascists commit crimes in the name of almost anything you can imagine, and the ego-atheists who run the world's largest corporations commit crimes in worship of  The Great God Money.   Millions die or live in misery so corporate executives can say, "In the last quarter (three months) our company made a profit."

And one other thing:  Which is the greater crime, shooting someone with a gun or intentionally standing by and allowing that person to starve to death?   Here's a list of the activities of our anti-choice promoters.

What Are the Responsibilities of those who would outlaw abortion?

That question is answered in considerable detail on the page titled:   Responsibility - The Key to Resolving the Unwanted Pregnancy Problem.
