. How to Alter Someone Else's Unacceptable BehaviorA sane person always acts in a manner that he/she perceives to be in his/her own best interest. To change the behavior of a sane person, alter the outcome so that he no longer receives the reward he used to get and his the behavior will change accordingly. A social example -- drug use: No matter what any governments do, the demand for mind altering substances is not going to go away . Making these products illegal simply produces a black market for them, increases crime, makes criminals wealthy, and raises the price to the user. It does not stop their sale or use. In many cases it actually increases the use of these products. To end the phenomenal amount of crime and secret profits from the sale of illegal drugs, simply decriminalize the drugs and regulate their sale and distribution in a manner similar to nicotine and alcohol. Addiction can then be treated by medical professionals and not by the criminal system With the huge profits gone, illegal drug sales will stop. Obviously the decision in this example would require numerous, significant, social changes. One has to ask: What is the price we are paying for the present system?° What would be gained and what would be lost by decriminalizing these substances? And most importantly, who has a vested interest in the status quo? A insane person will often act in a wild and unpredictable manner. His own best interest not a factor in his decision to act. The best we can do here is to alter the aspect of our social systems that contribute to the creation of criminal people. In this regard, accepting that humans have a strong sexual nature (a nature that cannot be repressed) would be a giant step in the right direction. A religious fanatic will set aside his own best interest and sacrifice himself for his cause. The person making the sacrifice believes that his action is both good for his cause and is in his own personal, best interest. He believes he will be rewarded by God after death. To change the behavior of a religious fanatic, one has to examine the person's cause, and respond to the fanatic's behavior in a way that produces more harm to the cause than the person is willing to accept. As an example, how does one eliminate terrorism? 1**
. NO MATTER WHAT WE DO, prior to ending terrorist activities, thousand of additional, innocent lives are going to be lost. The losses could conceivable be numbered in the hundreds of thousands, or even in the millions. The threat is very real and very dangerous. So the question is: "Whose lives are our political leaders willing to sacrifice? How many live are our political leaders willing to intentionally take to end this threat?" Are they willing to do what it take to make the price of activities such as suicide bombings so high that those promoting such practices decide to alter their behavior? Since the start of the war in Iraq, between thirty and fifty thousand people have died in that country alone, including over twelve hundred American service men and women (as on November 2004). If the present course of action continues, how many thousands more will die. So, with all these people dead, why are we not doing what is required to end terrorism? Why are we not raising the price that the terrorists must pay? How do we raise that price? It doesn't take a great deal of intelligence to answer that question, but it does take a great deal of courage to implement the required actions. One has but to look back into history to find an example of a successful way to eliminate secret destructive behavior on the part of an individual or a small group of people. During World War II, the German soldier traveled about in the occupied countries without fear for their lives. Although the citizens of these countries could have easily killed the occupying soldiers, they did not do so. Why? Because the people know that if they killed an enemy soldier, they, themselves and/or their families and friends, and/or their entire community would pay a heavy price. So where is the courage it takes to end terrorism? How many thousands of innocent lives will be lost to terrorist activities before those in charge are willing to do what is required to end this threat. . |

. If history teaches us anything, it's that most political social structures (nations) don't fall from outside invasion, but rather from internal corruption -- corruption that destroys the original intentions of that nations founders. If there ever was an nation on this Earth demonstrating this truth, it's the present governmental structures that are controlling the United States government. As Will Rogers said many years ago: "We have the best politicians that money can buy." That, today, is the literal truth. Our so-called representatives are bought, paid for and owned by corrupt, self-centered, multi-millionaires. In many cases their votes on certain issues are dictated by the people who directly or indirectly paid for their political campaigns. Their votes are also bought by fellow senators and congressmen who have the power to direct millions of dollars to be spent in a senator home district in exchange for his/her vote on a particular piece of pending legislantion. Did you ever wonder why so many politician experience a profound increase in their personal wealth while they are in public office or shortly thereafter? Do you know what "a sweetheart deal" is? It's the legal version of the illegal practice called, "insider trading." Here's just one example: It's where a friend of a friend of a friend just happens to let a so-called public servant know about this fantastically profitable investment opportunity, which the politician, himself, doesn't invest in, but his wife's uncle does. This mutual ass-kissing is also referred to as an "Old Boy's Club" where members just coincidently happen to find out about and participate in things that rest of us never even hear about. Are you aware that their are schools where lawyers and selected key individuals in major corporations are taught how to circumvent the laws? They learn how to adhere to the letter of the law while assassinating its purpose and intention. Here are just thee examples: 1) Politicians are notorious for passing stringent laws against a certain behaviors that are unethical damaging-to-others. As these laws is about to pass, they commonly tack on an amendment excluding themselves and their owners from having to comply with the law. Interest rates are a specific example of this practice. A federal law against loan sharking was passed which prohibited an individual from charging an interest rate over ten percent. It's intent was to prohibit Al-Capone-type gangsters for charging enormous, outrageous interest rates. Any one charging any interest rate over ten percent was subject to sever criminal prosecution for usury. The version of the law that finally passed, excluded, banks, credit card companies, and similar businesses from having to comply with the law. As a result, the criminals have come in from the secret back alleys loan sharking deals and are now openly greeting financially desperate individuals in fancy, expensively decorated offices. All perfectly legal thanks to your so-called representatives in public offices. 2) A law was passed prohibiting he insurance companies from charging discriminatory insurance rates based upon where the insured person lived. So the insurance companies, in full compliance to the law now charge insurance rates based upon the zip code of "where the care is garaged" -- all in perfect adherence to the letter of the law while assassinating its purpose and its intention. 3 ) See the next section below, Drugs and the Law. . |

. The overwhelming evidence tells us that prohibition of alcohol was a social disaster. Why do you suppose that in the face of such evidence, certain mind-altering drugs are still illegal? Because the men controlling of the drug peddlers have a vested interest in keeping these substances illegal, and they have an unlimited supply of secret money with which to influence every political system on the planet. Bribes, threats, kickbacks, money laundering, and the like are the norm in the illegal drug industry. Money is simply funneled into the campaign coffers of politicians who support drug prohibition. In most cases the politician, himself, has no idea of the actual origin of the money. Overwhelming evidence shows that: 1) The prohibition of alcohol during the 1920's was passed into law as a direct result of the activities of ultra-conservative Christians. 2) It was a dismal failure. 3) It spawned the birth of what is now a global-level, semi-secret, organized-crime network. In the face of overwhelming evidence that the prohibition of alcohol was a social disaster and in the face of equally compelling evidence that the present prohibition of certain drugs is a disaster of far greater proportions, politicians are still waging war against the of use of certain declared-to be-illegal drugs.
