Why Fight Losing Battles?

The Christian right wing (i.e. the fundamental Christian leaders and the hierarchy of the Roman Catholic Church) have consistently come down on the losing side of social issue after social issue and yet they adamantly continue to do battle with everyone else on issues that they know that they will eventually lose.    

One has to ask these questions:  "WHY all the fighting?"   They are obviously not in the fight to win the battles, so what is it that they are after?   What is it that really counts?   One might also note that the Universal Law of Thought^° tells us:  "To fight something is to feed it universal energy and make it stronger."  So why are they empowering something that they claim they don't want?

Do you recall these maxims?

1)   "If you want to know what's really happening regarding any issue on the entire planet, simply follow the money trail."

2)   "People always act in a manner they believe is in their own best interest."

Money and self-interest are the answers to our questions.   It's not winning the battles that count.  It's all the money, prestige, publicity, and political power they gain during the fight.   It's their way of manipulating, motivating, inspiring, and controlling their followers.   It's also a way to attract new followers.   Here's the plane and simple answer:   Controversy Sells!   And it's a multi-billion dollar business.

Issues Know Lose        ...

Some Examples:

Racial Discrimination:   In years past, many fundamentalist Christian leaders were notorious racial bigots.    This stopped only when social pressures overwhelmed their capacity to openly practice racial discrimination.   Based on anecdotal evidence, it appears that the Ku Klux Klan would have had few members without all these men who publicly acted as if they were pious Christians.

Suppression of Gay Rights:^°  Here we have fundamental Christian leaders (to use their language) "protecting the sanctity of marriage."   We wonder how a government's legal contract becomes sacred.  Why aren't dog licenses and driver's licenses sacred, too?  They even propose a constitutional amendment to force their sexual narrow-mindedness onto everyone.   Perhaps we should have a constitutional amendment protecting us from religious bigots!

Denying the Equality of women:   Women may no longer be legal property, but they're still considered by many men to be second class humans.   Ask the leaders of the Roman Catholic Church or any Muslim cleric  about the equality of women.   Million of women alive today have had there Genitals Mutilated.

Censorship:  It's easy to promote political censorship and hide it behind sexual censorship because political freedom and sexual freedom go hand in hand.^°    Literature that exposes the establishment's shortfalls often also contains words or pictures relating to sex.   The so-called protectors of public morals will  attack a publication saying its sexual content is obscene when in reality, they are attempting to silence those who expose or criticize them.   Do you remember when the so-called "moral majority" threatened to boycott 7-11 if it didn't stop selling Playboy and Penthouse magazines?

Anti-sex:  Sex is such a powerful emotional issue that it's easily used to manipulate and control others.   Surely you are aware of sexual behavior rules and the pressure to follow those rules.   This area is rampant with hypocrisy.   Many a con artist behaves as if the rules are for others and not for himself.   The prevailing attitude seems to be,   "As long as your behavior remains secret, you can do whatever you want".   

Anti-stem Cell Research:^°  Because of the vast medical potential of stem cells, some notable scientists feel that research in this area will very likely revolutionize medicine.   In the face of this vast life-saving potential, the anti-abortion leaders vehemently oppose this research.

Religious Displays on Public Property:^°   The anti-abortion leaders are not stupid.  They know that Christian displays on public property are inappropriate and that they will provoke protests.   That's exactly why they set them up.

School Prayer:^°  They Ignore what the Bible says about public prayer,^° and simply claim God is on their side.  This is a variation on their tactic of displaying religious symbols on public property in order to create controversy.

Tap the Public Treasury:^°  On  this one, they have been quite successful.   Churches don't pay taxes no matter how much money they bring in.   Even when they use church property and church worship services to promote their political agenda they still pay no taxes.   And thanks to "Resident" Bush, school vouchers are now federal law.      ...

The Crown Jewel of Controversy     ...

And Now for the Crown Jewel Controversy:

Abortion:  Of all issues used by the fundamental Christians for manipulating the public, the abortion controversy is without doubt, the most powerful and the most lucrative.   It alone has probably brought in more money and created more publicity for the fundamentalist Christians than all their other issues combined.   Why?   Because it strikes human emotions to the core.   It combines sex, motherhood, murder, and babies, and no one will ever find a more powerful tool for manipulating the public.

u  It's such a powerful tool  that the anti-abortion leaders are willing to deny the irrefutable evidence that tell us the entire anti-abortion program is based on an unprovable, Medieval fairytale.^°  

u  It's such a powerful tool  that they are willing to continue their absolutely essential and totally unprovable claim that a  human being is his or her physical body and do so in the face or the latest scientific evidence which tells us that it's literally impossible for a human being to be his or her physical body.   (See The Body Proclamation^° and  Another Possibility^°)  

u  It's such a powerful tool  that they are willing to deny religious freedom to literally billions of their fellow humans.^°  

u  And it's so powerful that the anti-choice leaders are even willing to defy God's words in their own Bible -- (See Genesis 2:7^°)

Remember, it's not winning the battles that counts.  It's all the money, prestige, publicity, and political power they gain during the fight.   Where would the fundamentalist Christian leaders be if they weren't constantly declaring war on something controversial?   To answer that question, we suggest you go to any local church and ask the local pastor how much money he can raise by preaching about the sin of divorce, or how much money he raise by preaching about family values, or about not drinking liquor or about not smoking cigarettes.   These are bland, ho-hum issues that attract little attention and even less money,  But on the other hand,  

Controversy Sells!   It sells big!    It's a multi-billion dollar business.

Another "Why?" Question:

The Christian right wing (i.e. the fundamental Christian leaders and the hierarchy of the Roman Catholic Church) and the multi-billionaire, ego atheists who run the world's largest corporations are in bed together.^°   Again one has to ask "WHY?"

What the Christians Believe They Are  Gaining:

They have openly stated that their goal is to create a Christian theocracy in America.^°  The Anti-abortion leaders are actually so mind controlled by their own fairytales that they really believe the Republican Party is helping them to create a Christian theocracy.   The Christian sheep (those who mindlessly follow their leaders)  haven't the foggiest notion of what's really going on.   They simply follow the orders they believe are coming from God.

What the Ego-atheist Corporate Leaders Believe They Are Gaining:

They manipulate and use the Christian leaders and the Christian sheep to gain political power.^°

What's Actually Happening to the Christians:

By supporting "Resident" Bush and the right wing, corporate, multi-millionaire, and  multi-billionaire, ego-atheists for whom Mr. Bush  is their front man,  those leading the fundamentalist Christian organizations are telling their followers to destroy the freedoms and the affluence that literally millions of Americans have lived and died for over the past two hundred and twenty eight years.   The mindless Christian followers (referred to by their leaders as sheep) are acting on  orders that they believe are coming from God.   Here's what they are actually doing:

They are destroying their own (and everyone else's) economic base.

They are supporting the destruction of the middle class.   

They are allowing pension funds in the major corporations to be stolen by legal manipulation of the corporate leaders.   

They are allowing the installment of a police-state-promoting and liberty-infringing laws such as the so-called "Patriot Act."   

They are supporting the destruction of religious liberty.   

They are allowing the right wing, corporate, multi-millionaire ego-atheists to literally own our government.

They are endorsing the creation of the largest government debt in all of human history.   A debt that somebody is still going to be paying for long after you and I are gone.

They are supporting the rape of our fragile, irreplaceable environment, and leaving their children and grandchildren with a world gutted of its natural resources and turned into a garbage dump.    They have literally created a cosmic version of the Titanic and, symbolically speaking,  their leaders have their attention  focused on fighting over the deck chairs.

They are doing all this in the misguided belief that George Bush, Jr. is helping them to create a Christian theocracy in America.   One has to be incredibly naive to believe that those who control the Republican Party care about Christian values.   Once power is completely in the hands of the ego-atheists, the Christians will be among the first go the way of Stalin's 70,000,000.^°

What's actually Happening to the Ego-atheists:

They are quite literally parasites destroying their host.  They are destroying the fragile irreplaceable ecosystem of planet Earth.   The programs they have set up are unsustainable.   The environmental destruction is already so great and so wide spread and so irreversible that it is only a matter of time before Mother Nature responds with an environmental shift that will result in the death of literally billions of humans.   

"Resident" Bush has also set up an "us against them,"  Christians against Muslims religious war.   Because of  his Iraq war and all the prior American interventions into Middle Eastern affairs, there are, today, literally millions of young Muslim males who would kill you in an instant if they had the opportunity, and they would kill you simply because you are an American or because you are Jewish, or Christian.

So the race is on to see who will actually destroy the controlling Ego-atheists,  Mother Nature or a Muslim fanatic.

And It's All Based on Unprovable, Fairytale-level Beliefs:

The Christians believe that "The Rapture" is about to happen and they will simply be lifted off the Earth and escorted directly into heaven to be with Jesus.   They are not at all concerned about Mother Earth or any of the billions  of non-human life forms that are dying as a result of human ignorance. 

The Ego-atheists believe that once their physical body dies, that's the end of their existence.    And they, too, are not at all concerned about Mother Earth or any of the billions  of non-human life forms that are dying as a result of human ignorance.

Did you ever wonder why George, Sr. left Saddam Hussein in power in the 1991 Gulf War?    Getting rid of Hussein in 1991 would have saved literally hundreds of  billion of dollars and hundreds of thousands of lives, and getting rid of him would have been and extremely simple matter.   So why leave him in power?     Well, here's your answer:   Money, money, power, money, manipulation, power, and money.   Controversy sells!   And it's a multi-billion dollar business.  

But don't believe us.   Examine the evidence or simply ask those who sell military hardware!^°   If George, Sr. had ousted Saddam Hussein in 1991 Gulf war, that would have saved countless thousands of lives and it would have saved the American taxpayers about two hundred billion dollars.   Not only that, the 9-11-2001 World Trade Center Attack would never have happened, and we wouldn't have hundreds of thousands of Muslim males looking for opportunities to kill Americans.

What do you suppose could have been done in this country if George, Jr. had spent all that money improving things in America instead of killing people in Iraq? 

And who do you suppose is going to pay the price for his adding about $500,000,000,000  (five hundred billion) each year to the already largest debt in all of human history.   His pay back plan is for your children and grand-children to pay for all his follies.   

And why don't we hear these question being asked in the public media?

Because Controversy sells!   And it's a multi-billion dollar business.
